Subject: Parachute Jump Incident During Training
- The aim of this memorandum is to inform about an incident that occurred during a scheduled parachute training exercise conducted at the designated drop zone. During one of the jumps, a soldier experienced difficulties during the landing phase due to unstable wind conditions. As a result, the soldier performed an improper landing and sustained minor injuries. The incident took place despite generally favourable weather conditions, although sudden changes in wind direction were observed at low altitude.
- Immediate medical assistance was provided on site, and the injured soldier was evacuated for further examination. Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening. The exercise was temporarily halted in order to reassess safety conditions. Overall, the unit demonstrated a high level of discipline and professionalism, as all other personnel followed procedures correctly and responded promptly to instructions.
- In order to enhance safety during future parachute training, it is recommended to conduct more detailed weather assessments prior to each jump, with particular attention to wind conditions at varying altitudes. It is also advisable to review supervision procedures to ensure immediate response to changing environmental factors.
