The head of the Italian Coast Guard has asked your unit to help secure their borders in order to stop/help immigrants from Africa. You have been tasked with writing an email in response, in which you:
- agree to assist them, asking about dates, length of the mission, possible tasks,
- inform them about your experience in similar missions, mentioning what you can offer,
- arrange a meeting in order to work out details of your cooperation.
Sample Answer
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in response to your request regarding support for securing maritime borders and managing migration flows from North Africa. I would like to confirm that our unit is prepared to assist the Italian Coast Guard in this important mission.
In order to ensure effective planning, I would appreciate receiving further information concerning the proposed dates, the expected duration of the deployment, and the specific tasks envisaged for our personnel. Clarification regarding command structure and logistical arrangements would also be helpful.
Our unit has extensive experience in similar border security and maritime surveillance operations. We can provide trained personnel, reconnaissance capabilities, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as technical support in the field of monitoring and reporting systems. Furthermore, our staff has previously cooperated with international partners in joint maritime missions.
To discuss the details of our cooperation, I suggest arranging a coordination meeting at your earliest convenience. We are available for either a virtual conference or an in-person meeting next week.
