W dniu 1 sierpnia, czyli w 81. rocznicę rozpoczęcia Powstania Warszawskiego, w zakładach Bumar-Łabędy w Gliwicach podpisano umowę wykonawczą na dostawę dodatkowych 180 czołgów K2 i 81 wozów towarzyszących, w tym 31 wozów zabezpieczenia technicznego, 25 wozów inżynieryjnych i 25 mostów. Umowa przewiduje, że część czołgów zostanie wyprodukowana w Polsce, co oznacza wznowienie krajowej produkcji czołgów po kilkunastoletniej przerwie.
On August 1st, marking the 81st anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, an executive contract was signed at the Bumar-Łabędy plant in Gliwice for the delivery of additional 180 K2 tanks and 81 support vehicles, including 31 technical support vehicles, 25 engineering vehicles, and 25 bridges. The agreement stipulates that part of the tanks will be produced in Poland, marking the resumption of domestic tank production after a break of several years.
Umowa została podpisana pomiędzy reprezentującą Skarb Państwa Agencją Uzbrojenia a koreańską spółką Hyundai Rotem Company. Umowę podpisali szef Agencji Uzbrojenia gen. Artur Kuptel i prezes Hyundai Rotem Yong-Bae Lee. W uroczystości uczestniczyli wicepremier, minister obrony narodowej Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz i minister obrony Republiki Korei Ahn Gyu-back.
The contract was signed between the Armament Agency, representing the State Treasury, and the South Korean company Hyundai Rotem Company. The agreement was signed by General Artur Kuptel, head of the Armament Agency, and Yong-Bae Lee, President of Hyundai Rotem. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Korea, Ahn Gyu-back.
Wartość umowy to ok. 6,5 mld USD (24,05 mld PLN). Umowa przewiduje, że pośród 180 czołgów objętych umową wykonawczą, 64 będą w wersji dostosowanej dla Polski, z czego 61 czołgów powstanie w Gliwicach z użyciem polskich komponentów. Pierwsze dostawy czołgów do Polski są planowane na przyszły rok, a produkcja w Polsce przewidziana jest na lata 2028–2030.
The contract is valued at approximately USD 6.5 billion (PLN 24.05 billion). It provides that out of the 180 tanks covered by the executive agreement, 64 will be adapted to Polish requirements, of which 61 will be manufactured in Gliwice using Polish components. The first deliveries of tanks to Poland are planned for the next year, and Polish production is planned for 2028-2030.
Umowa obejmuje swym zakresem również pakiety szkoleniowy i logistyczny oraz dostawę znacznego zapasu amunicji. W skład pakietu logistycznego wchodzi zapas części zamiennych, zestawy narzędzi specjalnych, wyposażenie testowe, narzędzia obsługowe i dokumentacja techniczna. Pakiet szkoleniowy obejmuje amunicję treningową, symulatory pokładowe ETS (Embedded Training System) oraz szkolenia instruktorów, załóg i personelu technicznego.
The agreement also includes training and logistics packages, as well as the delivery of a significant stock of ammunition. The logistics package comprises spare parts, special tool kits, testing equipment, maintenance tools, and technical documentation. The training package includes training ammunition, onboard simulators (Embedded Training System – ETS), and training for instructors, crews, and technical personnel.
Jest to druga umowa wykonawcza do umowy ramowej na dostawę 1 000 czołgów K2 i K2PL, podpisanej w lipcu 2022 roku przez Ministerstwo Obrony Narodowej. Pierwsza umowa, dotycząca 180 czołgów K2GF, została podpisana w sierpniu 2022 roku i do tej pory dostarczono już ponad 130 z zamówionych 180 czołgów. Wszystkie pozostałe mają wejść do służby jeszcze w tym roku. Czołgi K2GF z pierwszego kontraktu trafiają do jednostek 20. Brygady Zmechanizowanej w Morągu, 9. Brygady Kawalerii Pancernej w Braniewie oraz 15. Giżyckiej Brygady Zmechanizowanej.
This is the second executive agreement to the framework agreement for 1,000 K2 and K2PL tanks, signed in July 2022 by the Ministry of National Defence. The first agreement, for 180 K2GF tanks, was signed in August 2022, and to date, over 130 of the 180 tanks ordered have already been delivered. All the rest should enter service this year. The K2GF tanks from the first contract are being delivered to units of the 20th Mechanized Brigade in Morąg, the 9th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Braniewo, and the 15th Giżycko Mechanized Brigade.
Współpraca w dziedzinie obronny pomiędzy Warszawą a Seulem pogłębiła się po inwazji Rosji na Ukrainę w 2022 roku. Oprócz czołgów K2, Polska podpisała również kontrakty na południowokoreańskie haubice samobieżne K9, lekkie samoloty bojowe FA-50 oraz systemy artylerii rakietowej Chunmoo.
Defence cooperation between Warsaw and Seoul has deepened since Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Alongside the K2, Poland has also signed major contracts for South Korean K9 self-propelled howitzers, FA-50 light combat aircraft, and Chunmoo rocket artillery systems.
