Subject: Unidentified Drone Found During Border Patrol
- This memorandum provides information regarding an incident that occurred during a routine border patrol. Soldiers discovered an unidentified drone lying on the ground approximately 200 metres inside the border zone. The device appeared to be a small quadcopter type drone, approximately 40–50 cm in diameter, equipped with a camera and lightweight surveillance equipment. No identification marks or registration numbers were visible, and the origin of the drone remains unknown.
- After discovering the device, the patrol secured the area and reported the incident to the chain of command. The drone was collected as evidence and transferred to technical specialists for further analysis. Photographic documentation of the scene was completed, and the border sector was monitored for additional suspicious activity. No hostile actions or further security breaches were observed.
- In order to improve future detection of unmanned aerial vehicles, it is recommended to introduce enhanced surveillance measures, including drone detection systems and radar capable of identifying low-altitude objects. Additional training for border personnel in recognising drone activity should be conducted, and procedures for immediate reporting and evidence collection should be strengthened. Cooperation with allied forces and counterintelligence services may further improve situational awareness and prevention capabilities.
