On September 10, 2025, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency announced in a statement published on its website that, at the request of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces, an air traffic restriction is in effect from September 10 at 10:00 PM until December 9 at 11:59 PM in the eastern part of Poland, along the country’s borders with Belarus and Ukraine, in the form of the restricted area EP R129.
W dniu 10 września 2025 r. Polska Agencja Żeglugi Powietrznej poinformowała w komunikacie opublikowanym na swojej stronie internetowej, że na wniosek Dowództwa Operacyjnego Rodzajów Sił Zbrojnych od 10 września od godz. 22.00 do 9 grudnia do godz. 23.59 obowiązuje ograniczenie ruchu lotniczego we wschodniej części Polski wzdłuż granic Polski z Białorusią oraz Ukrainą w postaci strefy ograniczonej EP R129.
From sunrise to sunset, flights are prohibited within the EP R129 zone, with the exception of: manned aircraft conducting flights based on a filed flight plan, equipped with an operational transponder operating in mode A and C, or in mode S, maintaining continuous two-way air-to-ground voice communication with the appropriate ATS unit and, if necessary, establishing two-way communication on the appropriate frequency of the relevant ATS authority; military aircraft; flights conducted under the GARDA or ALPHA SCRAMBLE codewords; and flights with the status HEAD, STATE, SAR, HOSP, MEDEVAC, or FFR.
Od wschodu słońca do zachodu słońca obowiązuje zakaz lotów w strefie EP R129 z wyjątkiem: załogowych statków powietrznych wykonujących loty po złożeniu planu lotu, wyposażonych w działający transponder pracujący w modzie A i C, lub w modzie S, utrzymujących ciągły nasłuch łączności fonicznej powietrze-ziemia z właściwym organem ATS oraz w razie konieczności nawiązujących dwukierunkową łączność na odpowiednim kanale łączności właściwego organu ATS; wojskowych statków powietrznych; wykonywanych na hasło GARDA, ALPHA SCRAMBLE; o statusie HEAD, STATE, SAR, HOSP, MEDEVAC, FFR.
A 24-hour ban on civil unmanned aerial vehicles is in effect within the EP R129 zone.
W strefie EP R129 obowiązuje całodobowy zakaz lotów cywilnych statków bezzałogowych.
The statement notes that, following coordination with the Duty Operational Service of the Air Operations Center – Air Component Command (DSO COP-DKP) at the phone number +48 261 828 202, flights by state aircraft and the air medical rescue service may be permitted, as well as flights conducted to provide assistance in situations posing a threat to human or animal life or health, particularly during natural disasters, catastrophes, environmental threats, or emergency situations. Additionally, flights related to the protection and inspection of critical infrastructure may also be permitted.
W komunikacie zaznaczono, że po koordynacji z Dyżurną Służbą Operacyjną Centrum Operacji Powietrznych – Dowództwa Komponentu Powietrznego (DSO COP-DKP) pod numerem tel. 261 828 202, dopuszczone mogą być loty lotnictwa państwowego i lotniczego pogotowia ratunkowego oraz loty wykonywane w celu udzielania pomocy w przypadkach zagrożenia życia lub zdrowia ludzi lub zwierząt, w tym w szczególności w czasie wystąpienia klęsk żywiołowych, katastrof, zagrożeń ekologicznych lub sytuacji awaryjnych. Ponadto mogą być też dopuszczone loty związane z ochroną i kontrolą infrastruktury krytycznej.
The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency emphasized that the entry of aircraft not meeting the exemption criteria into the active zone constitutes a violation of aviation law.
Polska Agencja Żeglugi Powietrznej podkreśliła, że wlot statków powietrznych, niespełniających kryteriów wyłączenia, w aktywną strefę jest naruszeniem przepisów Prawa Lotniczego.
The restriction has been introduced for the purpose of ensuring national security, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of January 18, 2019, on flight restrictions for a period not exceeding three months.
Ograniczenie wprowadzone jest ze względu na zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa państwa zgodnie z Rozporządzeniem Ministra Infrastruktury z dnia 18 stycznia 2019 r. w sprawie ograniczeń lotów na czas nie dłuższy niż 3 miesiące.
